About
Fatima Arquitetura Interiores (FAI) was created in 1960 by architects Guilherme Nunes and Sávio Visconti in Rio de Janeiro. The company intended to function as the union between architecture, decoration, and art, having a gallery space housing artistic manifestations related to architecture. In addition, Sávio and Guilherme sought to move the local scene, and for that, it also promoted furniture design contests. FAI's production featured furniture with straight lines and careful construction, using Rosewood, leather, cotton fabrics, and straw as primary materials. -

The chairs are composed of solid Freijo wood, with large seats and high backrests, both made of natural hand-woven cane.
The combination between the seat and back composes a single volume. Large but still extremely light, this characteristic is also present in the production of Brazilian design masters such as Joaquim Tenreiro (1906-1992), Carlo Hauner (1927-1997), and Martin Eisler (1913-1977).
