Created by Jorge Zalszupin (1922-2020) and his design team, the Commander chair was designed to attend to the growing market for office furniture. The first model was developed between 1972 and 1973 and had casters; later, it gave rise to this variation with fixed feet.
The seat and backs are composed of a single curved volume of fiberglass, where the brown leather cushions rest. The armrests and feet are in well-made cast aluminum pieces. Not only beautiful but well designed, this piece is also known for its comfort, with a reclining mechanism and a swivel base.
L'atelier Móveis was founded in 1959, with the first collection focused on residential furniture. But soon, Zalszupin understood the potential of office furniture to produce on a large scale and used machinery and technology to achieve his bold ideas.
This pair of armchairs was restored by the previous owner.
Restoration and upholstery services by our Workshop are included as a courtesy.
