The furniture designed by the Italy-born Brazil-based artist, designer, architect, and businessman Giuseppe Scapinelli (1911-1982) is remarkable. His pieces have smooth curves, thin legs, and delicate metal details: creations marked by an in-depth study of futuristic, organic lines, and, at the same time, by reinterpretations of classic elements.
As described in Brazil’s Casa e Jardim magazine at the time: "(He is) a classic who does not forget to be modern - or if you prefer - a modernist who does not forget to be classic".
This round coffee table in caviuna wood and marble was produced in the 1960s and presents an unusual bowl-shaped tabletop with a marble inlay.
