M.L. Magalhães
Rosewood, Cane
ML Magalhães produced this set of eight dining chairs in the 1960s. The pieces have solid Rosewood structure and seats and backrests in natural plaited cane.
With rectangular forms and corners in almost all the structure, one beautiful detail to pay attention to is the slightly curved backrests – only perceptible when looking at the chairs in a diagonal perspective. The gorgeous tones of solid Rosewood are always a highlight, as this wood species become rarer every day.
The pieces are in very good vintage condition.
ML Magalhães was created in 1956 in Rio de Janeiro and was one of the pioneers in manufacturing corporate furniture in Brazil. ML Magalhães emphasized the aesthetic qualities of its furniture lines. Until the early 1970s, the company produced furniture for both the home and office environments, and its design followed the trends of modernist furniture in Rio.
