Set of six dining chairs manufacture by "Hall, Moveis e Decorações", Brazil, 1950s. Chairs are made of solid Caviuna structure, green leather seats, and cane backrests.
One of the pioneer companies to produce Modern Design in Brazil were Tenreiro Moveis e Decoraçoes and Forma S.A. Móveis e Objetos de Arte (Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler). Both companies used to stamp covers of the major Architecture and Design publications; it was the right choice for the best architects and interior designers.
In the normal flow of the market, their designs inspired many other small manufacturers with their vanguard production, materially (cane and leather) and the "modern values" of the form itself.
We consider this chair a free inspiration of the iconic chair designed by Martin Eisler for Forma.
