This piece is a rare design by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler for Forma in 1955.
Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler are most known for well-shaped armchairs made in iron, but the production is far more complex, hand-crafted, and extensive. The highly designed pieces produced by Forma S.A. Móveis e Objetos de Arte during the 1950s and 1960s in Brazil are very well-executed.
This armchair is an icon and illustrates some advertisements for the company in the 1950s. The structure is made of wood, and the new upholstery is made of nubuck leather, with details in velvet. The armchair presents an exquisite side cutout between the arms and backrests and pointy feet of caviuna wood.
