Zalszupin developed a line of modular furniture – one of its most successful lines. This strategy was also adopted by several of his contemporaries, such as Michel Arnoult and Geraldo de Barros.
The "modulated units" consisted of several element options. Clients could choose how to assemble it to create the final furniture piece according to their taste: the number of drawers, doors, and shelves, or opt for specific compartments, such as units for radio speakers.
The classic line can gain various combinations, adapting surprisingly to the environment. The carved wooden handles and the magnet closing system make up the doors of the cabinet modules, which in this specific piece has a door finished in cork, indicating the desk module.
This bookcase belonged to Jorge Zalszupin and used to be in his house, also designed by him and where he lived for over 50 years.
