Designed by Sergio Rodrigues (1927-2014) in c. 1958, this nightstand made of Brazilian Cedarwood with Freijo veneers is perfect for displaying small and utility objects.
Its structure comprises juxtaposed wooden slats of a square or rectangular section and straight corners – a design solution applied in many of Rodrigues' creations. Designs like the "Vronka" and the "Tonico" armchair, the "Vitrine Coffee Table," and "Franco" follow the same industrial structural thought.
Sergio Rodrigues was responsible for establishing a new paradigm in design, setting himself apart with his own language in his investigation of a recognizable Brazilian identity.
This piece is in very good vintage condition. Wood restoration is included.
