Silent Horizon is a collection of lighting pieces inspired by the calm beauty of nature’s transitional moments. Capturing the stillness of the sky before dusk, each piece is carefully crafted by hand from white clay and finished with a bronze glaze on the interior. The warm, glowing light evokes the gentle meeting of earth and sky as day gives way to night, creating a soothing ambiance.
Every piece is made to order, ensuring its uniqueness and offering opportunities for customization. Clients can select from various sizes and finishes for the metal hardware, making each piece a perfect fit for its intended space. The collection debuted at Salon Art & Design 2024, where it was celebrated for its understated elegance and thoughtful craftsmanship.
Ilona Golovina’s artistic practice explores the interplay between nature, materiality, and tradition through ceramics. Rooted in ancient techniques and inspired by the tactile intimacy of working with clay, her work transforms hand-built vessels into metaphorical containers for thoughts and ideas, moving beyond utility. Incorporating foraged wild clay and recycled materials like glass and metal, she promotes mindfulness around consumption while introducing unexpected aesthetics that challenge traditional notions of the medium. Influenced by John Cage’s philosophy of non-intention, her experimental methods capture the essence of specific environments, blending control with serendipity. Her vessels merge time-honored practices with contemporary innovation, emerging as unique reflections of the dynamic relationship between past, present, and future.
